Why WEMSA Membership Dues Are Changing (and What To Expect)
Dear WEMSA Members,
On October 17, 2025, the WEMSA Board approved a Board Resolution to adjust membership dues pursuant to Article 5.2 Dues of the WEMSA Bylaws, to keep pace with rising costs for member services, education platforms, events, technology, and communications, and to ensure we can sustain and improve the benefits you rely on. The new rates take effect January 1, 2026.
New member applications dated on or after that day will reflect the updated pricing. Existing members renewing on or after their 2026 anniversary date will also see the new rates; renewals before that date will be billed at the current rate.
To provide a sense of scale of the rate changes, Individual Memberships will increase by $3 to $53 (from $50). A Service (Department) Membership Tier 1 (≤10 members) will increase by $20 to $420 (from $400). All memberships saw a flat rate increase of 5% across the board to keep this increase uniform across all levels of service.
The last time WEMSA adjusted membership rates was January 1st, 2023. WEMSA did not increase dues for an estimated 7 to 8 years prior to 2023. Increasing membership rates is about ensuring that the organization can maintain stability in the years to come and continue building upon the services that we offer to our members.
Looking ahead, the Board adopted a forward schedule through 2030 and approved continuing a 5% annual increase beyond those figures unless a future resolution changes the structure. This predictability helps you plan your budgets and helps us plan long-term programs that serve Wisconsin EMS.
If you have questions about your renewal date, category, or how this affects your agency, please reach out. Our goal is simple: Protect and strengthen the programs you rely on while keeping membership accessible for the Wisconsin EMS community.
