Organization Overview
The Sussex Fire Department is a multi-role provider of all-hazard emergency protective services to an area of 7.24 square miles and a population of approximately 12,000. Emergency service personnel are cross-trained in fire, rescue, and medical emergencies. The department is responsible for emergency and non-emergency ambulance transport at the paramedic level, fire suppression services, motor vehicle collision response, and fire inspection and prevention activities within the Village of Sussex.
Sussex Fire Department responds to approximately 1,150 emergency calls annually and participates in Mutual Aid Box Alarm (MABAS) Division 106.
