May's topic is Shielding the Rescuers - Ideas for Internal Health and Safety Programs with Heather Blum.
Course Description: This presentation argues that occupational health is a vital maintenance program for an organization’s most valuable asset—its people—and is essential for long-term organizational sustainability. The framework emphasizes shifting from reactive measures to proactive strategies by using programs already in place in federal and local government that you can implement with free tools and resources. We'll examine interventions for mental and physical health and we'll even touch on a few subjects you may not have realized constitute occupational health. Ultimately, investing in your "hidden assets" not only protects the individual but also insulates organizational expertise, reduces liability, and acts as a recruitment differentiator by ensuring employees leave work as healthy as when they arrived.
