Professional Bio
Jay Young was reelected to the Board of Directors for another three year board term from 2023 to 2026. He has served on the WEMSA Board since 2018 initially fulfilling a board vacancy, being elected to a full three year term in 2020 and is currently the Treasurer of the Association.
Jay’s EMS career began as an EMT with the Bloomer Ambulance Service in 1990. Bloomer Ambulance is a rural ambulance service which serves 9,000 people and is staffed by all volunteer EMTs. Jay enjoys working as an EMT in his hometown and helping people in the community that he lives in.
Since 2012 Jay has also worked with Mayo Ambulance as an EMT serving the Northwest Wisconsin Region. Mayo Ambulance provides a 911 ambulance service for the communities of Barron and Osseo while also serving numerous hospitals as a transfer ambulance service.
On the WEMSA Board, Jay values being able to represent all Wisconsin EMS members as he feels that he brings a unique voice to the board coming from rural Wisconsin. Jay looks forward to serving another three year term to help keep Wisconsin EMS moving in the right direction!
