EMS Week 2020 Proclamation

Every citizen in Wisconsin counts on EMS providers to respond to the call for help and to provide quality prehospital care during their greatest time of need. This year, maybe more than any other, WEMSA joins with the rest of the EMS and Fire community to reflect, regroup, honor and celebrate all that we are and all that we do.

National EMS Week is May 17 – 23, 2020. During this special week, we recognize the dedication of over 18,000 EMS providers and over 800 services in Wisconsin. WEMSA commends and honors your continued commitment and dedication to all of us. We are especially thankful for your life-saving efforts, not just during this week but every day!

Because of the impact of COVID-19 on many EMS services across the Wisconsin and the US it is unlikely that we will be able to celebrate and participate in EMS Week in the normal ways. This year’s theme focuses on recognizing the selfless calling that makes EMS so vital. The 2020 EMS Week theme is Ready Today. Preparing for Tomorrow.

On behalf of the Board and staff of WEMSA we send our thanks and deep appreciation for the safety and health of all EMS personnel on the first lines.
