Cohen Resigns as Executive Director of the Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services Association

WEMSA announced today that Marc Cohen has officially resigned the position of Executive Director of the Wisconsin EMS Association effective August 18th of this year. In their statement, WEMSA explained that Cohen had very recently reached the decision to leave the leadership post. The WEMSA Board of Directors is currently considering options to permanently fill this new vacancy. In the interim, Anette Wisniewski will be coordinating office operations. Member agency support, educational offerings, and  clinician services should not be adversely affected by Cohen’s departure. According to WEMSA Board president, Brian Donaldson, “Marc’s leadership saw the organization through some challenging times.” Donaldson went on to say, “Marc can boast some major accomplishments during that time including the formation of a charitable foundation and the launching of many educational programs.” WEMSA represents volunteer and career EMS providers and agencies from across the state of Wisconsin. Nearly 7,000 members strong, the Association is one of the largest of its kind and provides professional education and many other support services to their membership.
