American Heart Association Looking For Support on Dispatcher-Assisted CPR Bill

The American Heart Association (AHA) has been working towards the introduction of a new bill that would require dispatchers to be trained to provide CPR instructions to those calling 911 during an emergency. Currently in draft form, LRB 2305, by Senator Jerry Petrowski and Representative Trig Pronschinske, will ensure all 911 dispatchers are trained to talk callers through performing CPR.

The bill is supported by the Wisconsin EMS Association along with other emergency services and law enforcement groups. The AHA, WEMSA, and other groups are asking that EMS providers contact their local legislators and ask them to sign on as a co-sponsor of the bill. Legislator contact information can be located here. When calling or sending an email, please include your home address so they know you are a constituent. Asking for their support on LRB 2305 will only take a few minutes and will greatly help this bill to succeed.
