Become a part of Wisconsin EMS Look at almost any industry, any profession, or even your favorite hobby. Chances are great you’ll find a group of individuals that have formed an association. Associations are how people with the same interests come together to work toward their common goals. It’s how information is shared – how they get things done. Emergency Medical Services is no different. As a First Responder, EMT, Paramedic, Nurse or even Physician, becoming a member of the Wisconsin EMS Association is the best way to associate with thousands of other EMS providers who do exactly what you do. In fact, it’s the only way.

EMS Professionals Many members find our magazine, EMS Professionals, worth more than the cost of membership by itself. Every issue is packed full with 48 or 64 pages of information on EMS in Wisconsin with anything from local EMS news, to changes at the state level, patient care tips, no-holds-barred commentary and even a little bit of humor. More people find out what’s going on in Wisconsin EMS from our magazine than any other way. You’ll find yourself anxiously waiting for your next issue to arrive.

Premium Items When you join, and every year you renew, we’ll send you several membership items. Items like a pharmacology book, first responder bag, association pin, penlights, window decals, key chains, trauma scissors, pocket masks, gift certificates and more. Each year the items change but they are always included with your membership.

Coupons and Discounts In addition to our fabulous premium items, members are provided with a variety of free coupons and discounts. For 2007 those include a free coupon good for a treat from any of 112 Culvers locations throughout Wisconsin, up to 12% on Dell computers and electronics, and up to a 10% discount on any air fare on Midwest Airlines. These items quickly add up to make your Wisconsin EMS Association membership even more valuable.

EMS Education  Did you know that one of the very largest EMS events in the United States is held right here in Wisconsin? It’s called the Working Together Emergency Services Midwest Conference & Exposition and it’s produced by the Wisconsin EMS Association. The absolute finest EMS educators are flown in from all across the United States to present lectures on just about anything you can imagine related to EMS. As an association member, you’ll get a $10/day discount off of conference tuition or off the already low separate exhibit hall passes. In fact, if you attend the whole conference, the discount will be twice the cost of your membership. How’s that for a deal? That means you'll only have to attend two days to have your discount match your membership fee. If you attend all four days, the discount will be $40 which is twice the cost of membership!

Be Represented Everyday The Wisconsin EMS Association represents its members every hour of every day. Whether it be new legislation, a change in the rules that govern how you practice, or a change being contemplated to how you work in EMS, Your Voice For EMS is the Wisconsin EMS Association. It’s our job to make sure your interests are protected anytime an EMS subject is discussed. From our legal advisor, medical director and legislative lobbyists, to the Board of Directors and Association staff, there are people working for you 365 days a year. And with thousands of members, our professional staff is able to impact EMS in Wisconsin like no one else can!

A Resource For Information  There’s so much to know. So much is changing. Sometimes you don’t know who to believe or where to turn for information or help. As a Wisconsin EMS Association member, you’ll know where to turn – to your association. Our toll-free number is staffed by professionals who, if they can’t answer your question, will find somebody who can. Rather surf for the answers? Send us an E-mail with your question or problem. Or, try our web site. It’s overflowing with the latest in EMS information, from a calendar of EMS events, to the latest happenings – all updated daily.

Stay Informed  Let’s face it, this is the information age. The time to find out that training requirements may change, you may get charged a fee for your license, or a new program is about to be implemented, is before it happens – while you can still do something about it! Part of belonging to the Wisconsin EMS Association is knowing that you’ll be informed of the things that affect you. We’ll watch your back and then be there to help if you need us.

Value for your Dollar  While many associations charge hundreds of dollars, the Wisconsin EMS Association gives you hundreds of dollars in products and services but only charges you $20. That’s right! Membership is only $20. And if your EMS service joins as a group, the price is even lower! Do the math, you’ll find that all of the products and services we just told you about will cost you less than six cents a day!
