Ken Bouvier New Orleans, Louisiana

Ken Bouvier has been involved in EMS since 1974. Ken is a Nationally Registered Paramedic, Past President of NAEMT 2004-2006, and is the Administrative Liaison for New Orleans EMS. In 1989 he was the recipient of the NAEMT EMT of the Year Award and in 2008 the recipient of the Rocco V. Morando Lifetime Achievement Award. Ken is on the advisory board of EMS Magazine and 24/7 Fire. Ken has written many articles for fire service and EMS publications. He is known nationally and internationally for his lectures and is a popular presenter at many EMS conferences.

Scott Bolleter San Antonio, Texas

Scott Bolleter, known as Scotty to his friends, is a Flight Paramedic and internationally recognized speaker. He is currently the Director of Education for San Antonio AirLife. His twenty five years in EMS include past positions of Assistant EMS Program Director for Victoria College, Training Officer and Supervisor for Harlingen Community Emergency Care Foundation, as well as EMT & Paramedic for Aransas County EMS. When asked about his career, Scotty replies that it pales in comparison to the sacrifices made by those who protect our freedom and the lives of those who refine the art of medicine.

Shane Dingus Kingsport, Tennesee

Shane Dingus, born and raised in Kingsport, Tennessee, enlisted in the US Army where he worked on utility helicopters. Shane is a Paramedic and has been teaching for over 10 years. He is a SWAT Medic with the Washington County Sheriff Department, and currently works for Johnson City EMS in Tennessee. Shane had been a leader in the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride. He is Certified as a Haz-mat Technician, in Advanced Swift Water Rescue and in Advanced Rope Rescue.

Christopher Ebright Delta, Ohio

Chris is the Program Director of EMS Training for the MedCorp Training and Education Center in Toledo, Ohio. He has been providing medical education for 14 years and has extensive experience in the field that ranges from primary EMS response to critical care transportation. As an annual national speaker, Chris strives to bring an audience a high-level of energy and interaction with relevant, useful information for all levels of pre-hospital care.

Dr. Richard Gasaway Roseville, Minnesota

Richard B. Gasaway’s emergency services career started in 1979. He has worked for six emergency services organizations in West Virginia, Ohio, and Minnesota. Chief Gasaway holds a bachelor, masters, and doctoral degrees in finance, economics, business administration and leadership. Dr. Gasaway has authored more than 80 journal articles, books and book chapters on leadership topics and he has presented more than 500 fire, rescue, EMS and safety oriented programs in 38 states, Canada, and England. He is the host of The Leader’s Toolbox on Firehouse.com – a monthly podcast radio program that addresses leadership challenges in emergency services.

Dr. Lindi Holt Brownsburg, Indiana

Lindi Holt is a full-time EMS Educator and Program Director for Clarian Health Allied Health Education. She also works as a firefighter/paramedic with the City of Lawrence Fire Department. Lindi serves as the treasurer of CISM Indiana Network and the Indiana Education Committee. She enjoys teaching topics that are unusual in EMS.

Bill Justice Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Bill Justice is a frequent educator at regional, national and international conferences. Bill’s user-friendly approach to emergency management topics provides a relaxed and interactive educational atmosphere for all participants. His background has spanned a 32-year career in fire rescue and EMS. He is currently the State of Oklahoma PHTLS Coordinator and holds numerous EMS instructor certifications. Bill is the newest addition to the Devon Energy Business Continuity Program Group and serves as the Healthcare Manager for domestic and international health issues.

Richard Kline Roseville, Minnesota

Chief Richard C. Kline has served as a fire chief since 1992. Chief Kline holds a Master’s Degree in Public Safety and has attained accreditation as a CFO. Chief Kline is a frequent contributor to professional publications and has presented on a variety of leadership and firefighter safety topics. Chief Kline is the chairman for the Minnesota State Fire Chief Association’s Safety and Health Committee.

Brian Litza Madison, Wisconsin

Brian Litza is the Section Chief for the State of Wisconsin EMS Section, Bureau of Local Public Health Practice. He has performed in various capacities in both private and public sector EMS since 1983. Brian has served as a volunteer firefighter, EMS educator, program coordinator, supervisor, and critical care paramedic during his 26-year career in emergency services. He writes the "Straight from the State" column in each issue of EMS Professionals magazine and will provide the latest information about EMS in Wisconsin.

Connie Mattera Arlington Heights, Illinois

Connie has devoted her career to EMS and emergency nursing and has a passion for teaching. While she says being Katie and Trevor’s grandma is her greatest accomplishment, she is professionally responsible for EMS administrative and educational leadership for the Northwest Community EMS System in Arlington Heights, Illinois. She is also a State of Illinois Trauma Nurse Specialist Course Coordinator. Her greatest joy is sharing practical ways to promote excellence in patient assessment and care delivered by all levels of emergency healthcare personnel.

Dr. Christopher Nollette Riverside, California

Dr. Chris Nollette, NREMTP, LP is a charter member and the incoming president of the National Association of EMS Educators (NAEMSE), and has served in many leadership positions in EMS education. He has a unique passion for his work and has endeavored to make education fun and challenging and incite great conversations about the possibilities that lay before our profession – in and out of the classroom.

Bob Page Springfield, Missouri

Bob has been the Director of Emergency Care Education at St. John’s Regional Health System in Springfield, Missouri, since 1993. He is a Paramedic Program Instructor/Coordinator and Director of Regional EMS Education Entity. Bob developed Multi-Lead Medics, a 12-lead ECG interpretation program that has utilized out-of-hospital 12 Lead ECG’s and thrombolytics as well as a capnography program for EMS. His books and articles have spanned across the country. High on technology, Bob’s presentations include state-of-the-art audio and video along with compelling graphics.

Jon Politis Latham, New York

Jon is the Chief of the Colonie EMS Department, a combination career and volunteer service in upstate NY. Active as an EMT since 1971, he has been a career firefighter, state EMS training coordinator for both Vermont and New York, and a paramedic training program coordinator. Jon has served as a member of many national EMS committees. He is the author of numerous publications and stays active in the field as a paramedic, ski patroller, EMS and rescue instructor. He is also an active technical climber/mountaineer and volunteers every year as a VIP backcountry ranger in Grand Teton National Park.

Dr. Ed Racht Sharpsburg, Georgia

Ed Racht, MD is the Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs for Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Georgia. Racht has been involved in EMS and healthcare systems for over twenty years, most recently serving as the full-time EMS Medical Director for the City of Austin / Travis County EMS System in Austin, Texas. Racht has been appointed by four Governors to statewide EMS Advisory committees, most recently serving as Chair of the Texas EMS & Trauma Advisory Council for nine years. He serves on multiple state and national committees and is a frequent speaker at national conferences on contemporary EMS issues. In his free time, Racht enjoys mastering the art of procrastination and exploring new ways to whine about how cold it is…

Jay Scott Syracuse, New York

Jay M. Scott is the Associate Director of the Center for Emergency Preparedness and Clinical Instructor for the Department of Emergency Medicine, SUNY Upstate Medical University. Jay has served NYS as a Paramedic since 1985, and is a member of the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians, the National Association of EMS Physicians and the National Association of EMS Educators. Jay is also a certified second-degree black belt in Kenpo and Muay Thai Karate.

Mike Smith University Place, Washington

Mike Smith, BS, MICP, is the Program Chair and Lead Instructor for the Emergency Medical & Health Services Program at Tacoma Community College. Mike is a 35-year EMS veteran, with 20 years as a Paramedic. He is one of the most popular EMS speakers in the country, speaking at dozens of state and national conferences each year. Mike has a over 50 publications to his credit, including work on seven textbooks. Mike also writes the monthly column "Beyond the Books" for EMS Magazine.

John Todaro Deltona, Florida

John Todaro is the Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Emergency Medicine Learning and Resource Center, and the Florida Emergency Medicine Foundation in Orlando, Florida. His EMS career spans 33 years, having held positions as Field Paramedic, EMS Supervisor, EMS Field Training Officer, EMS Training Coordinator, Coordinator of Medical Quality Assurance & Education, Nurse/Paramedic, and EMT/Paramedic Instructor. John has been actively lecturing at many regional and national conferences. He is a founding member and past president of the Florida Association of EMS Educators, a Charter Member of the National Association of EMS Educators and NAEMT.

Shawn Tompkins Kirkville, New York

Shawn Tompkins has spent the past 13 years as a Firefighter and Paramedic in the upstate New York region. As an avid martial arts participant, he holds a black belt in Karate, and is a certified Violent Patient Management instructor under the "Pressure Point Control Tactics" system. Shawn has spent hundreds of hours training fellow emergency responders in self-defense and proper patient control techniques.

Wayne Zygowicz Littleton, Colarado

Wayne Zygowicz is a 27 year veteran of the fire service and has served as a Paramedic/Firefighter for over 20 years. He has held the ranks of Firefighter, Paramedic, Lieutenant and Captain prior to being promoted to EMS Chief with Littleton, Colorado Fire Rescue in 1998. He is an instructor at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland teaching leadership and management and is in his third year of the Executive Fire Officer Program.

UW Med Flight

UW Med Flight celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2010. One of the original Air Medical Flight programs in the country Med Flight enjoys a long history of providing medical care to over 25,000 patients. UW Med Flight is one of the only Air Medical programs in the country to routinely fly Board Certified Emergency Medicine Flight Physicians on every flight. The physicians are complemented with a staff of highly experienced Flight Nurses who have dedicated their lives to providing expert and timely care to those in need.

The Flight For Life Transport System

The Flight For Life Transport System, celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2009, was Wisconsin’s first air medical transport program. Flight For Life’s bases are located at Waukesha/Milwaukee and Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and McHenry, Illinois. Flight For Life complies with national standards regarding excellence in all aspects of air medical transports and remains focused on incorporating a safety culture that remains paramount on every flight - and proven by over 28,000 safely transported patients.

ThedaStar Air Medical Helicopter

ThedaStar Air Medical Helicopter first took flight from its home base at the Trauma Center at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah in June 1986 being the only air medical helicopter based outside of Milwaukee and Madison. ThedaStar’s primary coverage area is a 40-mile radius around Neenah, but it also transports patients to Marshfield, Upper Michigan, Milwaukee and Madison.

Mayo Clinic Medical Transport

Mayo Clinic Medical Transport is an integrated patient care and medical transport system. The services of Mayo Clinic Medical Transport operate as non-profit subsidiaries of Mayo Clinic Foundation for Medical Education and Research and provide patient care and transport anywhere in the world from locations in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
